Engine Swapping, Standalone Conversions & CAN Bus Emulation

Installing BMW M54, S54, M62TU, or N54 powertrains into vintage chassis (BMW E30, E36, E28; Nissan 240SX S13/S14; Mazda Miata) requires specific standalone wiring and CAN bus emulation:

│ • In factory installations, vehicle speed is broadcast by the ABS/DSC module over CAN │
│ (Frame 0x153). When swapped into a chassis without DSC, the DME senses VSS = 0 km/h, │
│ imposing a safety rev limiter at 5500 RPM after 60 seconds of full-throttle driving! │
│ • Solution A (Software): Patch ASW code (`c_vs_max = 0xFF`) or set `id_n_max_cycnr__vs`. │
│ • Solution B (Hardware): Install an ESP32 microcontroller to sniff rear wheel speed or │
